It's always good practise to ensure that your account is secure, which is why it's so important to enable and use Two Factor Authentication (2FA) for your Hosting UK administration area. This guide takes you through how to set that up.
When logged into your billing.hostinguk.net client area, click on the upper right menu, and from the drop down, click on security settings, as shown below.
Click on the green button to enable two-factor Authentication.
You will be met with a popup window asking you to “get Started”. There are two options...
1) SMS Two-Factor Authentication -
Selecting this option will send you a code to your elected mobile number. You will be able to enter this number on the next screen.
If your telephone number is in the UK - you would add 44 in the first box - then the rest of your number in the second - minus the 0.
So, if your telephone number in the UK was 07188111111. You would add 44 in the + box then 7188111111 in the larger box.
Once you have activated SMS - you will receive a text token every time you log into the administration area.
Alternatively you can use Time Based Tokens...
In order to continue, you will need to have downloaded/installed a authenticator app on a separate device that you have regular access to. Please find links below to a few choices, bu feel free to use the one you prefer.

On your authenticator app, you will be able to add a new authenticator and scan the QR code shown on the screen or enter the code manually.
Once this had been added, enter the six-digit number into the box shown below and click submit.
You will be given a backup code that can be used to recover your authenticator in the case of a missing device or lost app, we recommend that you keep this code safe.
